What is it about?

You were kidnapped... but maybe there is a way to escape by connecting some polaroids, a map and miscellaneous documents. Can you find out where are and inform the police just in time?

The game was made for the "New Year, New Skills - Game Jam" in January 2024 on the topic of "Building Connections". My original idea was to make a game around building a network of connected evidence, but I ended up with a more simplified version. However, I have some ideas for Chapter 2, which would feature a pinboard mechanic, where you can connect the criminals to reveal more about the realtions within the gang. Who did they call at the telephone booth? What exactly were they planning to do? ... We'll see if I continue the game sometime in the future.

Controls

  • Drag the little pins on the polaroids with the left mouse button.
  • Click to continue.
  • Hold (and drag) with right mouse button for zooming in (only available for some documents).

Hints

Open for Photo 2 Compare the front cover of the Falconville Street Map with the Postcard on the wall. Which mountain can you see on the photo?
Open for Photo 3 Wasn't there something about it being a particularily windy day?
Open for Photo4 Are you looking through the left or the right backseat window? If you are unsure, a quick look at Photo 1 might help. If you hate spacial thinking, click below for the solution:
SolutionThe train is on your left-hand side, so the car is moving north.
Open for Photo 5 You're seeing fireworks... That must be the direction of the car's movement.
Open for Photo 6 Hehe, you better check out the next photo. Based on the photo alone, there's actually no way to determine what gas station it is whatoever. What you do know is that the gas station must be located between Place/Photo number 5 and 7, because the kidnappers didn't take any detours.
Open for Photo 7 If the firework show has already started (see Photo 5), it must be past 11pm. Which restaurant is still open?
Open for Photo 8 On your lefthand side, there's a road leading you to a building. That must be it.
